Bread is a universal staple – a symbol of culture and tradition across countless nations. It plays a vital role in economies, societies, and in the daily lives of millions of families worldwide.
In South Korea, this reality takes on an even deeper meaning. Baking is more than a craft – it is a true art form, reflected in precise recipes, visually stunning products, and a passionate, discerning consumer culture.
The relevance of baking in Korean society extends beyond the kitchen and into the realm of art and entertainment. A clear example is the popular animated series Bread Barbershop, featuring the charismatic Mr. Bread – a creative and humorous tribute to the baking world. We applaud this initiative for the way it highlights the sector and brings visibility to the importance of bakery, both generally and at events like the KIBA fair.

It was within this vibrant and dynamic context that the KIBA – “Korea International Bakery Fair” took place at the prestigious COEX Exhibition Center in Seoul.
For Ferneto, making its debut at KIBA, the event offered a unique opportunity to present the solutions we have developed over many years – equipment designed to help bakers and pastry chefs transform simple ingredients into extraordinary creations.
And that’s exactly what we did. While immersing ourselves in South Korean culture, flavors, and innovation, we made the most of the four-day event to showcase equipment that combines productivity, efficiency, and consistent quality, including:
- Spiral mixer, ideal for traditional doughs like braided and savory breads, both highly popular in Korea;
- Planetary mixer, for smooth, consistent emulsions;
- Dough Sheeter, ensuring precision and finesse in perfecting puff pastry;
- Automatic Divider, for fast, uniform portioning and shaping;
- Pie-tart Press, essential for making pies, tarts and the iconic Portuguese Pastel de Nata.
KIBA 2025 was, above all, a celebration of bakery knowledge, technique, and creativity.
Throughout the event, we welcomed many visitors, exchanged ideas, listened to industry challenges, and reinforced our commitment to supporting and advancing the baking sector. It marked another step in our mission to keep speaking Bakish with bakers and pastry professionals around the world.
Congratulations to the COEX organization for hosting such a well-executed event – in a country where bread has soul and identity.
